1. Saving Private Ryan

Saving Private Ryan is a 1998 American war film and by far the biggest mistake the oscars have made by far. Saving Private Ryan a film directed by Steven Spielberg and starring some of the greatest actors of our time launching their careers like Tom Hanks, Vin Diesel, and Matt Damon. The film takes place during the invasion of Normandy in World War 2. It follows Captain Miller played by Tom Hanks and a squad of Army Rangers as they have to fight their way across the countryside of France under the control of the German Army to find Private First Class James Francis Ryan an Airborne paratrooper who is the only remaining brother of 4 service men to bring him home. Saving Private Ryan is by the far the greatest World War 2 film to have ever been made and picking Shakespeare In Love over this has made the 1998 Oscars a joke in most people’s eyes.

The Oscars are seen as the highest form of recognition in the film industry but they are unreliable nine times out of ten and give Best Picture to the wrong movie.
