“It” was a massively successful and critically acclaimed movie; the film grossed over $100 million in the opening weekend, easily becoming the highest grossing horror movie of all time, surpassing the previous record holder “The Exorcist”. A sequel has been slated for September 2019, and it will continue the story of the Losers Club, as well as their return to Derry. As the production of the movie progresses, fan speculations as to who will play the adult versions of the Losers continues to grow.

Bill Denbrough

Played by Jaden Lieberher in part 1, Bill is the leader of the Losers Club. In part 2, Bill becomes a successful horror author. My first choice for the role is Tobey Maguire. Maguire looks almost identical to Lieberher and has that shy persona about him that the character needs. He also has a very young looking face, just like Lieberher. My next choice for the role is Patrick Wilson; while he doesn’t look much like Lieberher, he is a great dramatic actor, as shown in the movie “Watchmen”. He also has dabbled in some horror movies, such as “The Conjuring”.

Beverly Marsh

Beverly, the lone girl in the Losers club, is played by Sophia Lillis. In part 2, Beverly becomes a famous fashion designer. She also marries an abusive man who shares many similarities as her father. The most obvious choice for this role seems to be Jessica Chastain. This role seems the most likely not only because Chastain looks a lot like Lillis, but because she has worked with director Andy Muschietti. Muschietti admitted that he would love to work again with Chastain, so this choice seems inevitable. Another likely choice is Amy Adams. Adams’ similarity to Lillis was even mentioned in the movie when a pharmacist said she looked like Lois Lane at the beginning of the film. The Lois in Man of Steel, Batman vs Superman, and Justice League was played by Adams. This could be some potential clever foreshadowing. My last choice is Bryce Dallas Howard. Howard is most well known for her role in “Jurassic World”. She looks similar to Lillis, and her performance in Jurassic World shows that she can play a dramatic role.

Richie Tozier

Richie, played by Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard in part 1, is the comic relief of the Losers. In part 2, he becomes a radio show host, well-known for his hilarious antics and impressions. I only see one actor in this role: Bill Hader. Hader is one of  the best comedic actors out there, and his talent is evident in the movie “The Skeleton Twins”. He also looks almost identical to Wolfhard, so this role seems to be a given.

Eddie Kaspbrak

Eddie is played by Jack Dylan Grazer in part one, and is described to be “small and delicate”. In part 2, Eddie runs a successful limousine company. I have three actors in mind to play this role. First is Adam Scott. Scott looks similar to Grazer and is familiar with both horror and drama movies, as seen in his roles in “Krampus” and “Aviator”. Next is Jason Bateman. While he is mostly known as a comedic actor, he has had some dramatic roles, like on the Netflix series “Ozark”. My final pick for this role is James Franco. Franco is a good dramatic actor, and can be seen in the movies “127 Hours” and “The Disaster Artist”.

Ben Hanscom

Ben is played by Jeremy Ray Taylor, and is bullied for being overweight as well as new in town. However, in part 2, Ben loses weight, becomes a successful architect, and a ladies man. I have a two picks for this role. The first one is Jerry O’ Connell. Connell  is a very talented actor and starred in another one of Stephen King’s adaptation titled “Stand By Me”, where he played the role of Vern Tessio. Connel also shares many similarities with Ben, seeing as they are both unpopular, nerdy kids when they are young. Next is the very well-known Chris Pratt. Pratt was chosen by Taylor to play Ben in chapter 2, and is very talented. However, he is slightly too young for the role. Chapter 2 will take place in 2016, 27 years after 1989. This would make the Losers at least 40 in chapter 2. Pratt is 37, and would be 38 at the time of filming in 2018.

Mike Hanlon

Played by Chosen Jacobs, Mike is in the only African-American family in “It”. In chapter 2, he is the only Loser to stay in Derry and becomes the town librarian. I have three picks for the role of Mike Hanlon: My first choice is Jordan Peele. Known for his popular comedy central show, “Key and Peele”, Peele is a very talented actor, and I think that he could pull this role off. He also has some experience with horror, as he was the director of the critically acclaimed movie “Get Out”. Next is Black Panther himself, Chadwick Boseman. Selected by Jacobs, Boseman is a great comedic actor-as shown in the movies “Marshall”, “Get On Up” and “42”- and I think he could add much to the character.

Stanley Uris

Stan, played by Wyatt Oleff in chapter 1, is the most timid of the Losers. In chapter 2, Stan becomes a wealthy accountant. My choice for Stan is Ben Foster because he is a superb dramatic actor. Films such as Lone Survivor shows that Foster is capable of handling this role.
