Feb. 22, 2012, EAC hosted a school-wide blood drive. In order to participate in the blood drive, students had to be at least 16 and anyone under the age of 18 had to have a parent signature. The drive ran from 7:50 a.m.-2:40 p.m. and catered to hundreds of Santiago students. All blood donations were sent to local hospitals in order to save the lives of the people in our community. Donors were screened for possible illnesses and other factors that would lead to contaminated blood. Anyone who had the possibility of contaminated blood was sent back to class. After passing the thorough screening process, students were sent to get their blood drawn by a registered nurse. EAC provided food and drinks for all blood donors to make sure everyone stayed healthy. If interested, contact Santiago’s EAC in order to sign-up for the next blood drive.
