Essay Day Returns with a Vengeance

Essay+Day+Returns+with+a+Vengeance

The administration has planned another essay day on February 29, 2012 during the minimum day. Although some people failed to see the purpose of the day last time it came around, as evident in the absences and blank papers for the day, much of the administration still stresses the importance of having the essay day.

Unlike before, teachers have been taught face to face by Mrs. Wheeler and Mrs. Drum on how to conduct the essay day, gone are the videos that were broadcasted between each section. Consequently, students can expect a more hands on essay day and improved critique on their essays.

“People don’t realize how important this is,” Says Kenny Torres Assistant Principal, “Writing is so important to your overall future.”

In response to the heavy negative feedback from the students, Torres says that the difficulty of the essay does not warrant such disapproval. This is only the second time Santiago has held essay day so the staffs are still evaluating and making tweaks to the event as whole.

The staff at Santiago expresses high hopes for the future of essay day and plans to continue the practice.
