"Pretty Little Liars" is Getting a Spinoff!

It’s time to get excited…Pretty Little Liars is getting a spinoff on Freeform! When the popular teen show came to an end this June, fans were devastated. The show had been on for 7 years with a total of 160 episodes. The series finale was a shocking and sad end to a powerful show about friendship.

The new series entitled “The Perfectionists” is based off of a book written by Sara Shepherd. Sara is also the writer of the Pretty Little Liars book series. The best part of this reveal…Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish are starring in it! Also known as Alison Dilaurentis and Mona Vanderwaal, these 2 girls were very important characters in the PLL show. The new show takes place in a town called Beacon Heights. The website Digital Spy gives us insight into what the book is about by saying, “The books follow Ava, Caitlin, Mackenzie, Julie and Parker – all driven to be perfect, no matter the cost. At first the girls think they have nothing in common, until they discover that they all hate the same person: handsome womanizer Nolan Hotchkiss, who’s done things to hurt each of them. They come up with the perfect plan to murder Nolan – jokingly, of course. They’d never actually go through with it. But when Nolan turns up dead in the exact way they’d discussed, the girls suddenly become prime suspects in his murder. Only, they didn’t do it.”

The show sounds thrilling and creepy just like Pretty Little Liars. True fans will also recognize the names Marlene King and Leslie Morgenstein, who were main producers of PLL. Both take dark and twisted shots when filming which only makes the show 100 times better. These 2 women will thankfully be the producers of “The Perfectionists” which does not have a release date yet. Looks like the Pretty Little Liars fans have a lot to look forward to!
