New iOS Update – Dangerous or Not?

Fatimah Dibas, Staff Writer

The new iOS 11 update is constantly being installed on iPhones every single day; many say that they absolutely love the new features the iOS 11 offers, while others regret even thinking about downloading it. Unfortunately, I am one of many who installed the iOS 11 onto my iPhone.

When I first heard of the screen recording the iOS 11 provided, I installed it without even thinking twice. The screen recording gives you the freedom to record any video on social media platforms or elsewhere, and this new feature sounded cool. This is the problem though: anyone can record anything. Text messages sent, private nudes, bad videos or photos of yourself that somehow got leaked; the list can go on. Doesn’t the fact that anyone can record anything scare you? Everyone makes mistakes. Nobody is perfect. One little slip up can easily be looked over, but if someone recorded it, they could use it to destroy you. Speaking from experience, you do not want anyone to have some sort of hold on you that can be used as a barrier where it concerns your future.

In my eyes, the iOS 11 is not safe. Some will say that they would never find themselves in a place where a feature from an iOS update could be used against them, but we are all human and we are all bound to eventually make mistakes.
