Is Trump’s Repeal Of Obamacare A Good Thing?

Trump is determined to repeal Obamacare, but this is much bigger and more complex than him thinking he can create a better healthcare plan. As seen previously throughout the media, we know Trump has a mysterious and innate hatred of Obama. Obamacare was not a flawless healthcare plan, but it could’ve been worse and with Trump’s help, it might be. Now, while Congress didn’t allow Trump to repeal The Affordable Care Act also known as Obamacare, he has decided to proceed with his own efforts alone. Trump’s goal is to lower insurance costs for the healthy, but will instead make costs even more detrimental for sick and elderly people. Therefore, the people who actually need sufficient health coverage will be stuck in debt and unable to receive the proper care they need due to high costs of health care.

However, businesses will be able to benefit from what Trump plans to construct, because they will be able to sell large-group insurance policies that will be cheap. This plan may also help people who do not want or need to buy an extensive coverage plan, but for the people who direly need it may not have access to it. A major disadvantage of Obamacare was that everybody had to have health insurance, and if not they would have to pay a penalty at the end of the year when filing their taxes. It hasn’t been stated yet whether or not Trump will also try to make everyone have health insurance. Unfortunately, by the looks of it, Trump’s plan isn’t going to be much better, and seems to simply be an act of vengeance towards destroying what Obama created.
