Best Buddies Friendship Walk

Lace up got running shoes, grab a friend, and stay fundraising, because it’s that time of year again! The annual Inland Empire Best Buddies Friendship Walk is taking place on November 18th in Riverside. The Best Buddies walk is the number one walk across the country that raises awareness of those with an intellectual or developmental disability (IDD). By participating in the walk, you are not only joining thousands of others for a day of fun in the sun, but you are also raising awareness for an amazing cause. At the walk, dozens of schools across the Inland Empire set up booths with activities for all participants, from bean bag tosses to face painting. Representatives from Best Buddies deliver speeches on the importance of the walk as well as share stories of their experiences in this organization. Following these moving presentations that are sure to empower and motivate the audience, the 3K walk behinds!
The walk is an amazing place to interact with Best Buddies advisors, board members, and participants from all walks of life to broaden your understanding of how the organization benefits the community. Not only does Best Buddies strive to raise awareness of those with IDD, but it pairs someone with a disability with a friend to create a strong one on one friendship that they share throughout the entire year. These peer Buddies can be seen at the Friendship Walk having a blast with their buddy and meeting other buddies during the festivities.
