Elon Musk: History in The Making
October 22, 2018
Today, we read about the Einsteins, Newtons, and Bacons of yesterday. Unfortunately, more often than not, we tend to overlook greatness, or rather, find ourselves ignorant to it all together. We look back and study the work, study the genius, study the very lives of those who in their own time was never quite appreciated. Today, we too often take for the granted the technological advancements that would be inconceivable to the people of the past, and the same goes for those who are on the forefront of such advancements.
How often does it cross your mind that we are truly living in the same time as a man who will undoubtedly go down as one of the most revolutionary, influential, intelligent men who ever lived? Every day, Elon Musk breaks new barriers, makes more and more progress in new technologies, and reaches new heights. He’s currently working on The Boring Company which aims to eliminate L.A.’s traffic jams by digging tunnels underground for public transportation that could potentially travel at 150 MPH. He is also heading the company Tesla, which is manufacturing the latest electric vehicles, which could be big factors in limiting our rapid linear usage of resources. Not to mention that Musk also recently bought out the company SolarCity, which specializes in utilizing and harvesting solar energy. Musk, however, is planning something more intricate with this new acquisition. He is in the process of developing solar panels that can be completely integrated into the roofing in houses. In other words, he is developing Solar panels that look nearly indistinguishable from, and double as, roofing tiles.
Every day in the news, we read about some new and crazy Musk experiment underway that’s the next big revelation in science and technology. It’s important to remember that no matter how useless and obvious it sounds that each day is the peak, each day is the pinnacle of scientific and technological advancements in human history.
