  • Ugly Love

If you’re more interested in romance books, I recommend Ugly Love, by Colleen Hoover. She’s a fantastic author and the book demonstrates the power of true love. The main character doesn’t want to feel love anymore due to his horrific past, but that all changes once he meets the girl that turns his life upside down and made him question everything he once thought was true. Although they don’t get off on the right foot, that surely does change once he is fully ready to open up.

  • Wuthering Heights

On the other hand, if you’re more into romantic classics, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte is an excellent choice. It’s gruesome yet mysterious; in a way, it’s a star-crossed lovers book, a great choice if you love the chase when encountering romance books. It portrays the reality of relationships; no relationship is perfect and Wuthering Heights does an exceptional job portraying the reality of relationships.

  • We Were Liars

Many people believe that We Were Liars is not a mystery, but it is. This extremely rich girl that has a lavish style from uptown suffers from selective amnesia after her accident. Throughout the story, it’s revealed what happened during and after her accident, the book genuinely shows what it was like to be in her brain, scattered and confused about what happened. The book is extremely confusing at first, but it all makes sense in the end.

  • The Kite Runner

If you’re looking for a book filled with life lessons–many of which you could learn from–read The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. The title is rather misleading for the book is not majorly focused on kites running, but it’s rather focused on the everlasting friendship between two companions who later find out they are half-brothers. Like any other normal friendship, they go through rough patches, but these patches moreover mend their relationship and bond with one another causing it to bloom furthermore.

  • It Ends With Us

Although It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover is yet another romance book, it also highlights the emotional, mental, and physical abuse in abusive relationships. The book is edgy yet romantic and the overall message is heartwarming at the same time. It’s about Lily and Ryle’s romance story that has gone upside down due to Ryle’s tragic past that has been haunting him for his whole life.

  • The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo

The book by Taylor

Jenkins Reid explores everything a reader might think of within the title: betrayal, loyalty, loss, sacrifice, and even tragedy. It is historical fiction that retells the old story of an old Hollywood star Evelyn Hugo with a twist. The story begins with her abusive household and how her career and romantic life intertwine with one another. Her career as a movie star affects her life and ends off with the one person she truly loved and wanted to spend the rest of her life with was not one of the seven husbands
