The first headliner of the night was on Friday, starting with Lana Del Rey; as a fan of hers, I give this set a 9/10. Her outfits, dancers, and set looked incredible as Dolce Gabanna clothed her. She brought out Billie Eilish on Weekend One and Weekend Two Camilla Cabello; unfortunately, I disliked the set as she performed her new song “I Luv It” featuring PlayBoi Carti with Lana Del Rey. The media gave it good attention, but online people called it “off” and “not fitting her vibe.” Some comments on the post, with over 200 thousand likes, said, “The silence is deafening.” I honestly didn’t mind it, in my opinion. People also did not like how her mic kept cutting out, but I liked her performance either way, and most people who witnessed this live said there wasn’t an issue.
The next headliner was No Doubt, who returned after not appearing in nearly ten years. And I give their performance a 10/10. This band is legendary, and they were the best out of all of the headliners; along with that, they brought out Olivia Rodrigo for their reunion. Their confidence and performance were there. The set was terrific, and when I watched it live, I thought I wouldn’t like them as much as I initially thought. Almost every age group likes them, and their songs have always been trending on TikTok. Gwen Stefani and her band made it what Coachella is supposed to be. After 10 years, they sounded just like they had done with their past concerts and performances. They gained a fan.
The next headliner was Tyler The Creator; he brought out Earl Sweatshirt, Childish Gambino, A$AP Rocky, Kali Ulchis, and Charlie Wilson. I liked his set a lot; it was creative and theatrical. All of his guests sounded amazing, especially him. I give this performance an 8/10; it was great. I’m not a fan of his music, but this was incredible. He sounds great live. Especially with many artists as guests, it was an excellent touch; it felt like a real concert.
The last headliner for Coachella was Doja Cat, and she brought out A$AP Rocky. I was a fan of her from 2019 to 2020 during her Planet Her era, and she did amazing. I give this performance a 9/10. She has a great stage presence and keeps the audience entertained; she even went viral for a stage mishap. At the show’s beginning, she had no mic and waited but was left with nothing. She continued to lip-sync the song and perform the choreography for the song regardless of the mic. On Twitter, formerly known as X, PopCrave, a thread where you can see the mishap was posted, and fans praised her.
