“I’ve recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage. I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her.” Dave Grohl, the lead vocalist, songwriter, and founder of the rock band, Foo Fighters, revealed to the public via an Instagram post on Tuesday, Sept. 10th, he had an affair outside of his marriage of 21 years. Grohl, 55, has fathered 3 children in his marriage with Jordyn Blum, 48, a formal model and producer. Blum was nothing more than shocked after the hurtful announcement. Before marrying Blum, he was in a quick 3-year marriage with Jennifer Leigh Youngblood, a photographer born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
Before we get into the cheating scandal, let’s have some background information on Youngblood, his first wife. Infidelity is the reason his first marriage had concluded so abruptly. During Grohl’s career as the lead drummer for Nirvana, the romance blossomed, tying the knot with Youngblood in 1994. Youngblood would then help with her husband’s projects, such as helping with the cover album of his 1995 debut album. They split up in 1996, with the divorce finalizing in 1997. In an interview with The Guardian in 2007, the Nirvana star admitted being unfaithful to Youngblood. “I was 25, my wife was even younger. We weren’t ready to get married. I miss her a tonne; she’s the funniest goddamn weirdo you’ve ever met in your life. Absolutely adorable. It would have been better had we not gotten married. But you live and you learn.” Guitarist Pat Smear, who was close friends with Youngblood, sided with the photographer after he had publicly admitted. Smear and Grohl later reconciled, and rejoined the band as a touring guitarist in 2005.
On his Instagram post, he replied, telling fans, “I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness.” Dave Grohl’s daughters deactivated and deleted their Instagram accounts since the announcement.
An insider claimed the former Nirvana drummer was forced to break the silence, saying Grohl feared the mother or someone close to him would come forward and spill the news.
The following week, Dave Grohl appears to be “jealous” of his wife’s tennis coach. Tennis coach Christopher Crabb and Blum have worked together for years, having multiple weekly sessions at their $1.4 million mansion in Los Angeles. Crabb is not new to the celebrity game, as he has coached celebrities such as actor Steve Carell, comedian Donald Faison, and acting siblings Elle and Dakota Fanning.
Grohl and Blum have had arguments over the famous tennis coach. “Dave Grohl has been jealous of Jordyn’s hot tennis coach for ages,” says a People source. “They’ve even had arguments about him, and Dave thinks they’ve flirted. Jordyn has told him he’s crazy to even think that. But Dave has persisted.” This newfound jealousy… could this influence something bigger?
On Sept. 17th, Blum stepped out into the public without her wedding ring after the cheating scandal. Blum has not addressed any comments about her current relationship with her husband.
Through the week of 9/22 and 9/28, the Foo Fighters canceled their appearance at the Soundside Music Festival in Connecticut. Was this a step to protect himself as well as his reputation and not to get booed on stage? Perhaps. The controversy behind this action continues.
Following the scandal, the rock star is pictured with what appears to be an “alt porn goddess” via an old Instagram account. The 17-time Grammy winner’s reported relationship of 15 years came to light after the “baby mama drama.”
Another post that has come to light is a viral post of a woman snuggling with her child (the post has been since deleted). It has come out to say Grohl has fathered another child but has since denied it. “My sweet Roxie Junie Grohl,” the post began, “being your mama has already been the most incredible experience of my life.” Rumors have spread around Hollywood that he’s been a so-called “serial cheater” since day one.
As of late, the rock star appears to have taken a “hiatus” after the baby scandal.
Safe to say, Dave Grohl’s reputation has taken a hit and has turned for the worse. From being a rock singer to being nothing more than a grifter, who would have thought? Dave Grohl has had his ups and downs throughout his music career… but do you think he would return from this? And if so, how?
