The Taliban holds a parade using US equipment in 3rd year in Power.
Over this past summer, the Taliban celebrated its 3rd year back in power in Afghanistan. The Taliban first ruled Afghanistan from 1996 to 2001, when the US invaded their country after the 2001 terrorist attacks. The Taliban took back Afghanistan on August 15th, 2021, with the capture of the capital, Kabul. The United States was finally out of the country after 20 years.
In 2021 the Taliban promised a more inclusive government, although many critics have said they have yet to see it. According to researchers at Brown University, more than 2 trillion dollars were spent on Afghanistan, which is estimated to be more than 2 trillion dollars spent on Afghanistan, according to researchers at Brown University. That would estimate over $300 million a day for 20 years. This is the most the US has ever spent on a war except World War ll.
According to CNN, the US left 7 Billion dollars of military equipment behind over 16 years. The Taliban posted the image above to show off the acquired tanks. Afghanistan is also on the brink of a humanitarian crisis; many Taliban posted the photo above blame this on the US freezing billions of dollars worth of Afghani assets. Many sanctions placed on Afghanistan, due to their treatment of women, also play a significant role in the socio-economic recovery; after what many considered a ‘failure’ of occupation, the question of whether the US should interfere with other countries should be a policy at all. Nearly 200,000 Afghans lost their lives over the years, including 46,319 Afghani civilians. The Taliban celebrates with left behind US tanks and other military equipment. Other countries like Russia officially consider removing the Taliban from their terrorist list and recognize the Taliban as the legitimate government of Afghanistan.
