Will Kitty finally choose Yuri or Minho this season? Season 2 of XO Kitty premiered on Netflix on January 16th, 2025, after much anticipation. After being left on a cliffhanger throughout season one, which was disappointing, we now have more information on Kitty. If you haven’t seen season one yet, I recommend watching it before reading this essay. Furthermore, a little recap from season one shows Kitty being dismissed from K.I.S.S. for residing in the boy’s dormitory, as well as her attempt to figure out her identity and who she truly loves, Minho or Yuri. We believed Kitty would finally find a lover after breaking up with her former boyfriend, Dae. Still, it concludes with Yuri finally meeting with her girlfriend and Minho professing his genuine feelings for Kitty on the plane back to the United States.
Watching season 2 was incredible, especially seeing Kitty discover more about herself and her family. It demonstrates how a teen girl goes through numerous struggles and discoveries before realizing who she truly is. We witness Kitty trying to figure out who Simon was and why he sent a letter to his mother, believing it was from a lover. Then, she wanted to figure it out for herself. It is typical for young people to go through this because we never truly know who we are until we have experiences. Every lady has to deal with her first love, sexuality, family, and friends. It’s all part of life, and this season is demonstrating that.
In Episode 2, “Never Been Kissed,” we see Kitty pursue a new love interest named Pravenna instead of Yuri and Min-ho since she is genuinely attempting to get over Yuri since her girlfriend arrived in Korea. It ends terribly when Pravenna realizes Kitty isn’t over Yuri at all. Not only that, but Yuri’s girlfriend, Julianna, had a hunch Kitty liked Yuri. This led to so much conflict between the three. Yuri spent more time with Kitty, causing Julianna so much pain. Everything went downhill when Kitty found a tape of her mother and watched it with Yuri. She discovered that “Simon” was not a boy her mother loved but rather her cousin. As she found who he was, she began crying, and Yuri took advantage and kissed her.
My Thoughts:
If you haven’t seen the most recent episode of Kitty XO, I won’t spoil anything for you. But the ending of season 2 was lovely; the relationship and her life weren’t rushed, and we had more time to connect with the characters. Unlike every other movie we’ve grown up with, we may be disappointed that we didn’t get a kiss from anyone Kitty loves. Instead, the season concludes with a cliffhanger about who she will end up with. I was upset that nothing happened, but then we watched two people gradually getting to know each other and falling in love. People in society have several characteristics of love; one takes their time, whereas the other is hurrying. The more you know someone, the more you realize who they are.
