
Saturday, February 22nd, marked Ontario High School’s 14th annual Ontario Relays, and similar to previous years, the Santiago Sharks took home plenty of victories, both as a team and as individuals. Here’s the rundown of each event the Sharks participated in and some of the highlighted victories that came with them.
At the end of each meet, the team scores are divided by the number of points each team earned by placing in their event. Santiago’s boys’ division one team took home first place with a total of 123 points, with a 14-point lead over the team in second. Division three boys finished in second place with a total of 90 points.
The girls’ teams did equally, with Fountain Valley High School winning first place in Division One with 130 points, a whopping 20.5-point lead over the second-place team. Division Three girls took home first, with a total of 101 points.
4×1600 Relay
In 2023, Santiago’s division one girls’ team set the stadium record for the 4×1600 meter relay, run by Audrey Buckley, Emily Cuevas, Taylor Davis, and Braelyn Combe, and this year did not disappoint. The sharks came back and ran a time of 20:46.19 and set the meet record. The 2025 team, consisting of Rylee Blade, Audrey Buckley, Taylor Davis, and Braelyn Combe, won first place and a record under their name. Girls division three placed equally as well, with a time of 22:26.36 run by Lauren Reightly, Emily Cuevas, Anna Hill, and Sofia Ramirez, also placing first and winning 10 points towards the team’s overall score. The boys’ division three team was also placed first, run by Collin Brandon, Dominic Cardenas, Benjamin Yuriar, and Nicholas Thompson, with a time of 20:27.68.
100/110 Hurdles
Girls’ division three ran well, with Mia Janoski (1st) winning 10 points toward the team’s overall score. Emma Tarter also placed 3rd in girls’ division one, adding 6 points to the team score.
4×200 Relay
Girls division three ran well in the 4×200 meter relay, placing 3rd at 2:00.69. This team comprised Rachel Collins, Alexa Alvardao, Geonna Britt, and Ashlynn Ohanian.
1600 SMR
Division one girls 1600 SMR team, run by Sierra Brown, Camryn Gilmour, Emily Cuevas, and Jaela Jaffe, placed third overall with 4:34.73. Division three girls placed first overall at 4:45.10 with Geonna Britt, Camila Sivrican, and Samantha Taras. The boys’ division one placed 3rd, run by Mason Renfro, Khalil Chancy, Felix Robles, and Collin Brandon, with a time of 3:36.58. The boy’s division three also placed 3rd at 4:06.74, with Landry Alkire, Austin Lizar, Alek Acevedo, and Noah Avila.

In 2024, Audrey Buckley, Emily Cuevas, Taylor Davis, and Braelyn Combe set the stadium record, and Santiago returned to defend it in 2025. Rylee Blade, Audrey Buckley, Taylor Davis, and Braelyn Combe ran a time of 9:32.16 in girls’ division one and placed first overall, setting the meet record. The girls in division three, Lauren Reightly, Diana Morales, Tessa Jaffe, and Anna Hill, ran a 10:57.96 and also placed first. The boys’ division one team, run by Alijah Cox, Jeremy Luber, Caden Snitker, and Jacob Castillo, placed second with a time of 8:26.54.
4×100
The Division One girls’ team scored 51.32, with contributions by Sierra Brown, Jasmine Jaramillo, A’nyah Reed, and Amanda Zandi, and placed second overall. The boys’ division one team was also placed second, run by Travis Nguyen, Elijah Adams, Gage McCorkell, and Matt Lollino, and had a time of 42.88.
300 Hurdles
Alexa (Ally) Lopez ran 49.97, placing second overall in the division one girls ‘ category, and Bodie Brown ran 42.95, securing third place in the division one boys ‘ category.
100 Dash
Matt Lollino ran a time of 10.96 for division one boys, placing second overall and winning 8 points towards the team’s overall score.
4000 DMR
Jaela Jaffe, Jasmine Jaramillo, Tessa Jaffe, and Sofia Ramirez placed first overall with a time of 13:19.81 for Division One. Nessa Tran, Camila Sivrican, Diana Morales, and Isabela Cuesta ran a time of 14:57.57, also securing first place for division three. The bboy’s division one ran a time of 11:05.76 by Jacob Castillo, Bodie Brown, Alijah Cox, and Caden Snitker, placing second overall.
200 Dash (all divisions)
Jasmine Jaramillo ran a time of 26.85, placing third overall.
4×400 Relay
Girls division three placed second overall by Camila Sivrican, Josette Sewell, Karisma Ramoa, and Cerina Perez with a time of 4:37.88.
Long Jump
Floyd Watson jumped 18’1 ½ feet, securing first for the boys’ division three.
Triple Jump
Zethan Etienne jumped a mark of 41’9 ¾, winning first overall for the boys’ division one. Ian Robinson placed third in boys division one with a mark of 37’9. In boys division three, Marcus McNeal jumped 39’10, securing first. Floyd Watson jumped 39’0 ½, winning second. Khalil Chancy jumped 38 ‘3, securing third. A clean sweep in division three for the Sharks!
High Jump
Camryn Gilmour placed third with a height of 4’10 in girls ‘ division one, and Samantha Taras placed second in girls’ division three with a height of 4’8. Liam Casas placed second overall in the boys’ division one with a height of 5’10.
Shot Put
Hailey Cortez threw a 31 ’10 ½, placing second overall in girls division one, and Bella Carty threw a 29′ 0, placing second in division three. Brody Henderson threw a 46’6, placing second in boys’ division one.
Discuss
Hailey Cortez threw a 96’3, securing second in girls’ division one, and Morgan Bradley threw a 75’4, placing third in division three. Brody Henderson threw a 125’4, placing second, and Rocco Verqura threw a 119’5, placing third overall for Division One.
