Spartans Beat The Titans In A Close Match

Freshman Jamie Cheslik got the Michigan State Spartans on the board early in the 7^th minute when Allyson Krause clipped the ball over the defensive line to Cheslik. The match was very physical, containing two yellow cards for the Spartans, and injuries to both teams. The Cal State Fullerton Titans outshot the Spartans dramatically, however they could not land it in the net. This was mainly because of Spartan goalkeeper Courtney Clem, who made a flurry of beautiful saves. She ended the game with her eighth career shutout. The Spartans will start their season 2-0-0, coming off two big wins while in California. The Titans will take on Denver next, hoping to get their second win of this year.
