Noah Gallagher is a well- known performing senior here at Santiago. You may know him as the white rabbit from our last rally, but known off campus he is known as the unstoppable CAT (Christian Arts and Theater) performer. And doing this all he’s proud to give all the glory to God. Arts are definitely his thing as he also enjoys drawing, painting, and photography.
What inspired you to become a performer?
At a young age I would watch as many CAT productions as I could, it was always a treat to go see them with my family. I started doing shows when I was 9 years old, and ever since I’ve been hooked. As I’ve gotten older I find myself researching a collection entertainers such as; Johnny Deep, Jim Carey, Dick Van Dyck, and Elvis Pressley.
What feeling do you receive when you are performing?
When I am performing I feel completely separated from the real world.
How does your faith of Christianity play in as you receive certain roles?
I am often casted as the antagonist. That being said, I have played completely contrasting characters from who I am. I don’t let this hinder my instead I use the experience as a learning process, establishing my Christian morals and values.
How has cat formed who you are today?
CAT has had a huge impact on my own life. I have been led by so many older kids throughout my experience at CAT, and I have also been able to learn how to be a leader to the younger kids.
What are your plans for the future?
After high school I an art school, and then see where God leads me.
How do you think you can use your faith to change entertainment back to some appropriate?
I do not know if I will continue performing after high school, however if I do go into performing arts I will make sure that God is the center of my focus in all things I do.
When do you say per say get into the zone when performing?
To get in the zone before a show I try to stay in character at the start of call time, when I’m backstage before I go on I take a minute to sit close my eyes and focus on the character.
Who was your role model growing up?
I like Dick Van Dyck a lot. My role models seem to change depending on role I get. Director Dannis a huge role model when it comes to performing. He is an excellent father, teacher, husband, servant of God.
What is motivating you to continue to perform?
The joy get from performing, the joy I bring to people, and joy I have working with all of my friends; that’s what motivates me.
What is your favorite genre to play?
I really enjoy playing the “bad guy.”
What advice would you give Christian performers who are trying to balance faith and performing?
With everything in performing you do, make sure you always give God the Glory.
