The Good Dinosaur has been a very anticipated movie that Pixar has brought to life in an amazing way. The movie brings a compelling story and jaw-dropping visuals. Even though it is a Pixar movie, it has its pros and cons.
The movie actually has a big history to it. It took 6 years to make, which is very abnormal, because the normal Pixar movie takes 4 years to make. It was delayed 2 times. The original date was November 27th, 2013. However, when they found out it needs to be pushed back, Disney’s Frozen took its place. It was switched to May 2014, then it was pushed back again to Thanksgiving, 2015. During this delay they had to completely recast the characters and their voice actors, change the storyline, and hire a new director. Besides having to wait 6 years, it finally came!
The story was extremely well done; it gave a whole new look at the world of the dinosaurs. All the dinosaurs had human rolls, which were different and cool; the t-rex’s were cowboys and stegosaurus’s were farmers. It was like a reversed story of the classic boy and his dog movie. The camera shots and animation was well done. Looking like the world was very realistic.
All the voice actors did perfect playing their characters. With Raymond Ochoa as Arlo, Jack Bright as Spot, and Jeffery Wright as Poppa. They added a lot of character, for example Raymond Ochoa made Arlo always have a heavy breathing voice, showing that Arlo was scared.
So far critics have all had different opinions on the movie. Rotten tomatoes gave it 4 stars, Metacritic gave it 3 ½ stars, and Common Sense Media gave it 5 stars.
The plot of the story is when a young dinosaur named Arlo wants to make his mark in the world he ends meeting a human pet named Spot as they find their way back home.
The Good Dinosaur is now in theaters!
