Schools’ dress codes are far more strict than society’s dress codes. In school, you can’t wear shorts that are too short or shirts that are too revealing. However, society tolerates such clothing depending on age groups, which is somewhat understandable. I’m not sure a lot of people would want to see their grandmother in short shorts and a crop top.

Many people believe that the dress codes set by society are acceptable even though many of the dress codes are not. Society believes that it is acceptable for young men and women to wear revealing clothing. If you are a female between fifteen and twenty five society believes that it is acceptable for you to wear revealing clothing and it is kind of preferred. However, males society makes people believe that as long as you are “fit” you can be shirtless in public.

Most schools do not allow students to wear revealing clothing but some students do anyways and get away with it.Parents and teachers don’t believe that students should be wearing clothing with profanity or weaponry at all. In school students, are not allowed to wear clothing with profanity or weaponry on it. However, in society people can wear clothing with profanity and weaponry on it. Even though it is somewhat frowned, upon it is still accepted.

Most judging in schools and society is based on clothing. Your clothing says a lot about your personality. If you see a person wearing bright colors you would assume they are a happy person. If you see a person wearing all black you assume they are depressed or that they are a bad person. When looking for friends, many people tend to search for others with the same style of clothing so they can have things in common. If you dress like you don’t care about anything then people will most likely believe that you really don’t care about anything, which could give them a bad vibe from you.

I believe there is a time and place for everything. Inappropriate clothing isn’t allowed in schools, so students should not wear them. Students wouldn’t want their parents to have the same clothing style as them, so why would they wear clothing they wouldn’t want their parents to wear? People should be able to wear what they feel comfortable in, but should also follow some guidelines weather at school or in public.
