Fusion 1 Dance
September 30, 2016
Coming up for you Sharks on Jan. 13th is the Fusion 1 Dance. This event is a combination of 3 schools- Santiago, Centennial, and Roosevelt- and will serve as half-carnival and half-dance at the March Field Air Museum. “[The idea initially sparked from] the prior Activities Director here at Santiago, Ms. Rosa”, and it was a huge success, so our current Activities Director, Mr. Samson, decided to give it a go due to the ticket sales drop in our Winter Formal and Morp dances in previous years.
The attire for this event is informal, in fact, Mr. Samson stated, “technically it’s not really a dance, it’s more of an outside carnival”, and with the function held at an Air Force Base there will be many different aspects and activities present for students to participate in. For example, “there’s going to be a huge Air Hangar that’s going to serve as our dance room, and outside there is going to be carnival rides, arcade games, and carnival food”, so the more tickets sold, the more activities will be held at this event.
Due to the massive success of Homecoming and the number of students that attend our dances from other schools, Mr. Samson believes that “this event will be an opportunity to come together as a District and do something fun in unity”- despite the fact that we are meshing together with our rivals. The hope for this dance is for it to be nothing less than a positive turnout.
The Fusion 1 dance will officially be announced in October and ASB will soon be promoting and advertising this new and exciting function here at Santiago.

This seems like a cool idea to have all the schools together and have fun together. I’m looking forward to having a good time with friends from those schools as well.

Fusion 1 sounds like a great idea! Homecoming was a huge success so why not bring all the schools together and have one big dance? Brilliant! I am looking forward to this dance, and think this article was very well written! Keep up the good work!
