Marvel Entertainment, one of the leading film studios in the comic book industry, has always had a tremendous amount of support from loving fans and superhero enthusiasts. Their movies and television programs are partly the most engaging element for fans to finally get in touch with their superhero obsession. Ever since their largest box office hit “The Avengers”, grossing to $623,357,910, their fan-base has greatly increased, attracting many different viewers of various different ages, renewing a love for comic books once more.
So, without further ado, based solely on popularity and support from fans, here are the top 10 Marvel movies that have touched the hearts of many, and entertained millions.
1. “Marvel’s The Avengers”
Made in 2012, as previously mentioned above, “The Avengers” is the highest grossing Marvel movie so far. Quite apparently however, as this movie presents every popular superhero in one room: Captain America, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk and Hawkeye, clearly sparking an interests for many fans
2. “Avengers: Age of Ultron”
Created only 3 years later, “Age of Ultron” is the sequel of “Avengers”, following the events of “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, which also includes all of Earth’s mightiest heroes together once more.
3. “Iron Man 3”
Starring Robert Downey Jr., it’s no surprise that this movie attracted a ton of viewers. Released in 2013, “Iron Man 3” follows character Tony Stark as he tries to resume back to his normal life following the events of the first “Avengers” movie.
4. “Captain America: Civil War”
Recently released in March of 2016, “Civil War” is the first Captain America movie that shows not only the Avengers, but additional characters such as Black Panther, Ant-Man, and Spider-Man, who made his new debut in this movie.
5. “Spider-Man”
The very first time we are introduced to Peter Parker, is in the very first Spider-Man, played by Toby Maguire. Released in 2002, it’s the earliest of Marvel movies to ever reach box office records
6. “Spider-Man 2”
Released shortly after the first, this film continues to follow up on Peter Parker’s life as he both deals with his social and romantic life, and his crime fighting alter ego Spider-Man.
7. “Deadpool”
Ironically released on Valentine’s day of 2016, “Deadpool” was the very first rated R Marvel movie starring Ryan Reynolds. After 7 years of working on the film, the studios finally green lit the movie for production, much to the excitement of many anticipating fans.
8. “Spider-Man 3”
The last installment of the original Spider-Man trilogy, this film depicted a darker and grim perspective of Peter Parker and his romantic relationship with Mary Jane. With very heartbreaking scenes, this is surely one of the heavier of Spider-Man movies.
9. “Guardians of the Galaxy”
Chris Pratt’s first feature Marvel film released in 2014, “Guardians of the Galaxy”, is more of a lighthearted action film. With both humorous scenes and major throwback songs, holding an underlying nostalgic feeling to the movie.
10. “Iron Man”
Marvel’s first greatest hit, despite “The Avengers” holding the top grossing title. “Iron Man” is the first movie in Marvel’s Cinematic Universe time-line, that kick-started the rest of the Marvel movies. Released in 2008, “Iron Man” sets the setting for not only the Avengers, but all the Marvel superheroes in this Universe.
