Kehlani began the anticipation of her new album with the release of an eye-catching video for “Distraction” and immediately racked up 2 million views on Youtube in just the first day of it being released. Shortly after, she tweeted the title of her upcoming album “SweetSexySavage” on November 26.

Kehlani began her road to success with a spot on “America’s Got Talent” as a vocalist of a covers band that took 4th place in the show which caught the eye of Nick Cannon and other major labels.

She soon reached stardom after releasing mixtape “Cloud 19” in 2014 and shortly after following with another album “You Should Be Here” in 2015. She officially had her foot in the door and was highly promoted all over the radio. By the time 2016 rolled around she was well-known in the music industry and received a lot of positive recognition from pop culture. Artists such as Jhene Aiko and Tinashe were overlooked within the music industry for some time but Kehlani managed to keep the top spot.

“SweetSexySavage” is not an album based off of nostalgia and reminiscing on different aspects of life as many R&B titles are founded on, it releases vibes that highlight the independence of women and the strength and power a woman holds over her own life and feelings and portrays that in the song “Distraction”. She promotes self love in her fan favorite “CRZY” and in some of her songs such as “Not Used to It” she dials it down a little bit and talks about her fear of commitment and then creates a 180 degree turn and boasts about her “player” personality in the song “Do U Dirty”.

Kehlani has certainly sprouted in 2017 with her release of “SweetSexySavage” and not only does her new album consist of new songs, she also included many fan favorites from her first two albums “Cloud 19” and “You Should Be Here”. “SweetSexySavage” can be downloaded for free on Spotify.
