Everybody’s Cheerin’ For Sheeran
March 15, 2017
Ed Sheeran’s newest album “Divide” launched March 3rd, 2017. A day we all had marked on our calendars since we first heard of the release. Sheeran (also known as Ginger Jesus), had been on a hiatus with absolutely no word of him in the press, or on any of his social media accounts. So, all we had were his previous albums to keep us company during his gap, but upon his return, he did not disappoint. Ed quickly raced to fill the gap we had in our hearts with “divide.”
With a total of 16 tracks on the album everyone with a love of Ed and his sweet and unique sound, and those who are unaware of his grace; are now big fans of the product and are rapidly becoming extremely attached with their earbuds practically cemented in their ears on the daily. Words are easily memorized with the catchy tunes; some of which even have a different cultural sound that we have never heard and can be believed to branch from his travels during his break. We didn’t know we needed the Irish sound he features in a few of his songs, but as usual, it was absorbed with absolute utter devotion by the masses.
On this album, Ed’s sound seemed to shift slightly from his previous album’s. This album seems to be more filled with love songs rather than songs of Ed’s unfortunate experiences in love (although he does have a fair amount of songs that you are surely able to cry to). Though his slight shift in sound, Ed manages to keep an upbeat tone to his songs that genuinely make it difficult not to nod along, or stand up and dance like no one’s watching. He perfectly captured what the world needed. Lyrics Ed has composed for this album seem to hit home no matter the situation and are appreciated in all their glory.
As was expected: Ed Sheeran’s new album release left nothing for us to “Divide” our attention upon; Ed is in the spotlight, appreciated for his accomplishment.
