H-1B Visa Suspended

The H-1b Visa Program suspended their program on March 3, 2017. They will temporarily suspend the premium process until further notice. The H-1b program is a program that allows U.S employers to temporarily employ foreign workers in specialty occupations. If a foreign worker in H-1B status quits or is dismissed from the sponsoring employer, the worker must either apply for and be granted a change of status to another non-immigrant or leave the U.S. What this means is that they are planning on changing the program and improving it a little. President Trump vows to deliver on campaign promises to reduce immigration. Because of the lack of premium process, there will be a delay for the doctors working in the communities they wish to serve.  The bad part is that any foreign workers could be hurt by this delay in visa processing. This is tough times for the immigrants. And President Trump is just making things harder for the foreign workers. In India, there are many skilled immigrants who come to the U.S on H-1B Visas and even they are bracing for an economic impact.  Local news reports have already cautioned that the changes in Trump’s administration will likely have a toll on the IT companies.  So this decision to suspend the H-1B is truly impactful and major changes will be made by the immigrants. So we will soon found out how it will impact them and how much it’s going to impact them negatively. I think they will get through this because they are intelligent and skilled workers with strong convictions.
