Are We on the Brink of the Third World War

Are we on the brink of the third World War?

Recently, President Assad (Syria’s president) launched a full-scale chemical attack on his citizens in order to substantiate his authoritarian dominance over the country. In response to this form of authority, the US conducted a myriad of air strikes upon Syria in which has elicited a variety of responses from the world’s most powerful countries. Since these strikes may be interpreted as an act of war, the general public has produced a mass hysteria over the fact that some of the major countries in the UN (primarily Russia and China) may declare yet another global war against the US based upon this impetuous action.

Throughout history, the world has seen similar actions which result in a world war since one massive country decided to become involved with another country in which other powers deemed unlawful and declared war against that massive country as well as its allies. Take World War 2 for example. Once Hitler decided to invade Poland, the UK and France became involved with preventing the spread of this fascist empire which immediately produced a war for the containment of Nazi Germany in order to eradicate its empire. We are currently experiencing similar times with the replacement of terrorism instead of Nazism. Once Assad conducted those chemical attacks, the US became involved in which their allies (such as the United Kingdom, Spain, and Japan) fervently supported the country’s decision in doing so. Other major countries like Russia and China greatly oppose America’s involvement in Syria’s government since the US used irrational methods of countering the perceived demonstration of terrorism within the country of Syria. Countries in support of Russia and China believe that the US could’ve enacted more diplomatic and peaceful resolutions towards the crime that Assad committed instead of murdering over 200 more innocents to prove a point. The majority of US citizens are also in favor of Russia’s liberal decision due to the perception that Trump is an irrational, aggressive thinker and only declared these strikes in order to demonstrate how he intends to cooperate with other nations over these next 4 years. American citizens are also immensely concerned over this event due to Trump’s previous travel bans which produced mass amounts of hatred from Middle Eastern countries as well. They believe that each of these events will be the primary contributing factors in producing the next World War since they systematically created mass amounts of hatred towards a singular target in which other nations plan on uniting against and bring into political submission.

Overall, the world will probably experience another world war within the span of these next 4 years due to the American government’s redefined foreign policy. These policies have greatly contributed in polarizing the world in which has effectively spurred talks of violent measures in order to subdue an illogical political figure. The only true way to ensure that this war doesn’t occur is if America and other powerful countries decide to ally themselves with their enemies through peaceful declarations instead of gruesome ones. If America can master the art of diplomacy instead of war, then other countries will follow suit which will result in world peace (which is highly improbable due to demonstrations of authoritarianism being declared undemocratic which certain leaders believe the only resolution to such actions are conducting military airstrikes and the consideration of deploying troops in that area).
