Izzy Isom, Staff Writer
Isabella “Izzy” Isom is a sophomore (10) at Santiago High School. Her determination after high school is to attend Notre Dame University. Although an underclassman, she hopes to take AP Language and AP Literature to let her love of writing blossom.
Her interest in writing developed during the COVID-19 pandemic. She wanted to change the perspective of cellphones and constant messaging, and instead into indulging in the senses of reading.
Izzy assisted with machinery with her father during the summer and was captivated by the many working parts of a starter in a car. From this experience, she has learned about teamwork and hard work. Izzy was also a part of the track and field training program. From this experience, she learned to stay active, and how to be stronger through dark times.
When she is not busy, she runs track, is training for a 4 by 4 relay as well as pole vault and a 400 meter, stays active, watches NBA and Marvel, and loves to write essays.
She hopes to spark people’s creative side and turn to writing in the future. She hopes to change people’s perspectives about phones and turn to books for entertainment. You may reach her at [email protected]
