The tension between the United States of America and North Korea seems to be dissolving as North Korea decides to release 3 Korean-American Prisoners, Kim Dong-chul, Tony Kim, and Kim Hak-song. These men were held in a North Korean labor camp for committing acts of espionage. Though this puts the two nuclear-bearing countries on the path towards a better future, it is far from labeling the two as allies.

The 3 Americans were released after a short meeting held between the leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un and U.S Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. This act taken by the country followed an announcement given by Kim Jong-un that North Korea will put all ICBM and Nuclear missile tests to a halt.

United States president Donald J. Trump has set up a plan recently, to meet with the North Korean leader to talk peace between the two nations. With the stopping of the nuclear and ICBM test along with the releasing of 3 prisoners who were on board a plane with Secretary Pompeo on a flight back to the U.S as of Wednesday May 9th, the future for both the United States and North Korea is headed in the direction of peace.

The 3 prisoners landed around 2 A.M. the following morning and were greeted by their families, friends, and the President himself. This act was a surprise to the United States and its Allies. The reason for this is because North Korea is not known to be an unpredictable and antagonistic country and for them to release the prisoners of their greatest enemy (minus South Korea) seems to show that North Korea is ready for this tension between the two to end just as much as the U.S. is.
