Lin-Manuel Receives a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
December 17, 2018
Lin-Manuel Miranda received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on November 30, 2018. Miranda was very thankful for being considered to receive a star for his success.
From Miranda’s famous Broadway musical, Hamilton, to his work on the Moana soundtrack, it’s safe to say that a star is another great accomplishment for him. Hamilton has been selling out its seats at the Richard Rodgers Theatre for years now. Hamilton has traveled to multiple cities besides New York, including London, Chicago, Boston, and Houston. The musical has received an average of 100 million dollars in grosses. This has caused major success for Miranda, which has led him to receive multiple awards for his work, including a Tony, a Grammy, and a Kennedy Center Honor.
Miranda first performed his famous musical in 2009 at the White House in front of President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Miranda was laughed at until the end of his song where everyone could feel his passion for this song he has worked so very hard for. Little did they know that in six years time, he would release one of the best-known musicals in Broadway history. The Obama’s invited Miranda and the cast back to sing at the White House since 2009 and have given Miranda high praise for creating a musical about the former Secretary of the Treasury, Alexander Hamilton.
It’s hard to believe that Lin-Manuel Miranda was able to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame so early in his career, and Miranda has also spoken about how everything that’s happened to him has felt like a dream, and that none of it felt as though it was really happening. No matter how much he is praised for his work, he remains very humble when accepting awards and compliments.
