Beyonce Drama
As I watched these performances, I was anxious to see who would win what award and, of course, the most anticipated award, Album of the Year. This year, there were eight nominees, which include:
– “Hit me Hard and soft”
– “New Blue Sun”
– Djesse Vol 4.
– Short and sweet
-The tortured poets department
-The rise and fall of the midwest princess
-Brat
-Cowboy Carter
As everyone was gripping on to their seats, many people had a good idea of who they thought would win, but many were shocked and even upset that Beyonce with Cowboy Carter was the winner of Album of the Year. She also took home Best Country album, and her shocked reaction to winning has been made into a meme circulating the internet. Although some were very happy and some were upset, only three other Black Women have won the Album of the Year in Grammy History.

Political messages made by celebs
Many celebs were unafraid to speak up on many political topics on Grammy night. People like Chappell Roan, Shakira, Lady Gaga, and Bruno Mars were the outspoken celebs who talked about things like Immigration, Trans rights, and up-and-coming artists in the industry. For example, when Shakira accepted her Best Latin Pop Album award, she said, “Immigrant brothers and sisters.” The singer continued, “You’re loved and worth it, and I’ll fight with you.” Later on, as Gaga and Bruno go to accept their award, Gaga states, “Trans people are not invisible; they deserve to be lifted. Music is love.” These messages were very heartfelt and a major highlight from the Grammys, not to mention Chappell’s viral performances, where she advocated for the LGBTQ community, as well as her viral acceptance speech for the best new artist, where she advocated for new and upcoming artists and how they deserve insurance and other necessities.

Kendrick Major Grammy wins from a Diss Track
Kendrick Lamar has had a significant year due to his rap battle against Drake. During their public feud, the two released diss track after diss track, and overall, Kendrick’s “They Not Like Us” song has gone completely viral and has been used as an anthem throughout this year. It was no surprise that Lamar got all the nominations and went home with many awards. This includes Record of the Year and Song of the Year, some of the most anticipated awards. He dedicated his win to his hometown, Compton, and the families suffering from the fires in LA. Many were ecstatic with their win and felt it was well deserved.
Many more fun and entertaining highlights happened during the 2025 Grammys, but I had to mention these were just some. Let us know your thoughts on the Grammys and your feelings about the performances/wins.
