The Dangers of Online Dating

Many who grew up in the era of computerized technology would probably recall a certain concept on the internet called online dating. Many apps have been developed to help contribute to this newly developed social norm where intimate relationships can be developed remotely. (You can probably see where the problems start already.) Many problems have arisen with the popularity of social media and dating apps that include very sensitive subjects such as grooming children, pedophilic users, convicted sex offenders, and many cases of murders have been connected to online dating all the way from the creation of the concept back in 1995 when the first dating app Match.com was created. A very wide majority of the documented cases of online dating would be attempted murders on sites most popular such as tinder. A popular case of this according to the BBC was the case of Grace Millane where a man (who cannot be named due to legal reasons) had strangled her inside his Auckland hotel room on December 1st, 2018, one day before Grace’s 22nd birthday. The man promptly stuffed her dead body in his suitcase and got back onto Tinder to find his next target. He had begun communicating with another woman who thankfully is lucky enough to survive and tell the tale of how this man acted. This man was described as a clean and very well-groomed man that had only put on a bit of weight in comparison to his photos online. One very notable thing to keep in mind as a universal rule of thumb in online dating is the fact that the people that are the most persistent to get alone with you probably don’t love you and are looking to take advantage of you any chance they get. Another case of criminal activity in online dating is the case of Adam Hilarie. This poor man was a single father looking to find a woman to raise his daughter with had eventually found a nice and pretty woman named Hailey Rose Bustos and went out on a date after some communication back and forth.

The following is a photo of Hailey Rose Bustos

Afterward, they both go back to Adam’s house and talk for a bit and he drops his date back at her home. Haily sent a text saying she wanted to meet up back at Adam’s house where she does come back the night later with three men (2 of which were convicted felons of violent crime) and surprised Adam and shoot him in his kitchen, they stole his things and left in a hurry. In the end, all that Hailey was paid was $50 dollars for her role and that was it. She took a man’s life for $50. This case is still open and it is unclear if Hailey has acquired a lawyer. Her family or any relatives could not be reached for any comments on the subject matter.  A word of the wise to any of you still reading up until this point is and I cannot stress this enough, “Always know who you are talking to and NEVER go to be alone with them. Always have someone to bring along so that nothing happens.” And that my friends is the dangerous world of online dating.
