Rust production movie directed by Zoel Souza went astray; in a scene, a gun was pulled out to shoot, little did we know that there was live ammo in the “prop” gun that cinematographer Halyna Hutchins had died of.

Real guns, cap guns, and nonfunctional firearms are generally used on movie sets, however, no live ammunition is allowed. Ordinarily, productions will use blanks to reconstruct the effect of an actual fire of a gun. The prop master, Sarah Zachry had found ” bad” live rounds in a box of ammunition.  Hannah Gutierrez-Reed film armor assumed that one or two rounds in the box were bad, but “Sarah told her it was more than half of the box,”

Hannah pins on the hope that Defendants supplied dummy prop ammunition or blanks- with no LIVE rounds being on the set. There were two misfires of the prop gun a week before the occurrence, and the crew members walked off-set because of the cruelty of work hours before the accident.  They accused the production of not properly following safety protocols, including gun inspections. According to a crew member who remains unknown, “There should have been an investigation into what happened,” an unnamed crew member said. “There were no safety meetings. There was no assurance that it wouldn’t happen again. All they wanted to do was rush, rush, rush.”

Assuming that everything was in the clear to use the gun, Alec Baldwin who was holding the gun continued to point the gun at Halyna Hutchins, not to shoot at her but for her as a cinematographer who was directing where to point the gun for the camera angle. There Halyna Hutchins was shot…dead. “Someone put a live bullet in a gun, a bullet that wasn’t even supposed to be on the property,” he said. “Someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is, but I know it’s not me.”

Alec and Hannah are charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter for their lack of protection in their production. Andrea Reeb a special prosecutor, declared “If any one of these three people — Alec Baldwin, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, or David Halls — had done their job, Halyna Hutchins would be alive today. It’s that simple.”

While Alec Baldwin is being charged with manslaughter, he himself is too suing members of the Rust crew for submitting the responsibility for set safety. Accusing armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, first A.D. Dave Halls, prop master Sarah Zachry, and gun and ammunition supplier Seth Kenney for the inadequacy of their jobs. Baldwins Lawyer has said on Alec’s behalf that live bullets were delivered to the set and loaded into the gun.

The attorney for Rust’s assistant director sided with Baldwin that his finger was never on the actual trigger guard and parallel to the barrel. Since day one, it was assumed that it was a misfire because of the two missed fires that transpired.  The Rust movie Production has been fined for lack 0f firearm safety $136,793. The production will continue to be filmed, though Alec Baldwin and the crew that was lackadaisical with safety, will continue to act/work in the movie in the unknown.
