On October 15th, Prince Harry and Meghan. Duchess of Sussex, announced they are expecting a baby. The couple is unsure of the gender due to Markle only being four months pregnant. The couple is expecting eight months after getting married on May 19th of this year.

The couple announced the pregnancy in Australia on Monday, and Kensington Palace released a statement soon after revealing that they expect the baby to arrive in the spring of 2019.

There was some speculation of Duchess Meghan pregnancy due to being seen many times wearing button-up shirts that clearly seemed to be concealing a baby bump.

Many are excited for the couple’s first baby, who will soon be the newest addition to the Royal family. A myriad of people have tweeted their congratulations for the couple, including former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom David Cameron.

Although the Duchess and her father do not regularly communicate, he talked about how he found out that Meghan was pregnant while listening to the radio and watching the news. He stated that he would have preferred for Meghan to at least call him on the phone to inform him that she is expecting a baby, who will be his first grandchild. However, Duchess Meghan’s father is filled with joy and is happy for his daughter and the arrival of her first child.

On a similar note, Markle’s mother is thrilled to hear the news of her first grandchild and is happy for the couple.

Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry’s baby will be seventh in line for the throne behind Prince Charles, Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, and the baby’s father, Prince Harry.

Before the pregnancy announcement, many were body shaming Meghan Markle, saying that she looked pregnant and that she shouldn’t be hiding it. A lot of people on the Internet also judged many of her outfits, saying that she was not covering enough of her body or was wearing too much. This is nothing new, as seen with the responses to Kate Middleton’s past pregnancies.

Before becoming pregnant, Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry talked about having kids together and how they were unsure of how many kids they wanted. Now that Markle is pregnant, it is clear that they are both exhilarated.

Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry have been seen together receiving and buying items for their upcoming baby. Pictures showed Meghan holding a grey bathtub for a baby and a few small white towels. They were also seen buying other items like small blankets and baby-sized clothes.

Meghan has stated, as reported by other news sources and articles, that she bought a $5,000 watch that will be given to her future child if a girl. She also stated that she wants the watch to bring her daughter and her together and help them develop a bond.

No matter the gender, hopefully, the baby will be healthy and will live a long, content life as a member of the British royal family.
