Gabby Petito and Brain Laundrie Case

Gabby Petito was a 22-year-old woman who grew up in Blue Point, New York. Gabby is a social media influencer known for her van life on the road. Gabby’s fiance, Brian Laundrie, had always been there for her whenever she needed him. Gabby and Brian were on a cross-country road trip from Blue Point, New York to Oregon in their white camper van. Documenting their travels on social media along the way, the couple posted photos to Instagram indicating that they made stops in Kansas, Colorado, and Utah.  Somewhere along their trip in Wyoming, Petito’s family lost all contact with her. Ten days later Brian Laundrie returned to the couple’s shared home in North Port, Florida, with the van but not Gabby. Her family soon reported a missing person’s report.

An officers’ suggestion, the couple separated for the night, according to the report, which describes Petito as “confused and emotional.” Many of Gabby’s followers and the public have been combing through Gabb’s feed for any clues to her disappearance. Police say Laundrie is “hindering this investigation” by refusing to cooperate with authorities. The 23-year-old is also declining to comment on the case, according to his family attorney. More than 85,000 people have followed Brian’s Instagram account and his follower count has raised to an amazing 280,000. Some are accusing Brian of uploading Gabby’s posts. Photos of the couple’s stops in Utah, Colorado, Kansas, and Wyoming show them having an “amazing” time together on their cross-country road trip. But bodycam footage released suggests that something may have happened in Utah when Moab police responded to a call for potential domestic abuse.

Petito’s family says they lost contact with her while she was in Wyoming, with the last text from the 22-year-old being “No service in Yosemite.” An attorney for the family has said Petito’s mother doesn’t believe the message was from her daughter. The FBI and Suffolk County Police Department are helping North Port police in this investigation.Timeline of Gabby Petito's Disappearance - The New York Times
