February 14, singing valentines kicked off after 10 days of preparation. A specialty of the Madrigals of the Santiago Choir, singing valentines spread the love through personal performances of “Treasure” and “Just the Way You Are” by Bruno Mars. For the price of five dollars choir would grace your person of choice with these select songs in front of their entire class.
“I think it helps people celebrate Valentine’s Day,” says one choir member, Caleb Price (12), who sang this past Friday. “It’s a lot of fun.” Still, there are those who are against these singing performances for sake of preventing embarrassment.
“… It’s embarrassing to stand up in front of others while people sing to you,” according to freshman student Ashley Cardinale (9). Regardless of opposition, voices echoed down the halls of Santiago High School with heartfelt affections and simple joys.
