Teal To Heal: An Update On Walker

Teal+To+Heal%3A+An+Update+On+Walker

Lately as of March of 2014, injured football player Jordan Walker (11) has been making progress in his condition since his injury in 11-22-13. Now located at Craig Hospital, he has been visited by several therapists and is on a slow road to recovery.

“They are all good, but starting off slow,” wrote parents Curtis and Ali Walker on their fifth day at Craig. “They mainly worked on Jordan’s shoulder pain. They are not sure if it is muscle, tendon, or something else….if it does not get better in a couple days they will do an MRI or CT.”

On the sixth day at Craig, Walker went without his neck brace and also received approval for no time restriction in his chair. He is also “adjusting to the altitude” up in Englewood, which his parents wrote in their Pray for Jordan Walker update.

“He also doesn’t require as much suctioning through out the day which is another great change,” wrote the family. Walker is being fit for his electric wheelchair as of now, putting him one step closer to getting outside the hospital walls.

Despite these positive advancements, they had a set back in his progress on March 6. Apparently, he wasn’t feeling too great on that morning, but luckily they were able to still get him fitted for his new wheelchair. Also, a new physical therapist found a way to relieve the pain in Walker’s shoulder.

“With something to finally help his pain in his shoulder (other than pain medicines) and him getting his new chair fitted, things are looking in the right direction to getting outside,” wrote the Walkers.
