The Varsity Boys Water Polo Team of the Santiago High Schools Aquatics Sector: Defeated

The amazing Varsity Boys Water Polo Team of the Santiago High School’s Aquatics Sector was defeated last week during playoffs. It was a tough game, but the Sharks fought for every point they made every second of the way. Within the first 30 seconds, the Sharks landed a point and it seemed as though the points continued to fly in. At three points, the visiting team landed a point and tension could be felt in the air. The Aquatic Boys reassured their fans with another point earned, but that would be the final reassuring point they would give.  The boys of Santiago played hard, leading for most of the game, but during the last quarter of the game, the two teams were neck and neck- Santiago leading by one point for the majority of it. Finally, at 2 minutes, the game was tied, and although Santiago gave it their all, it wasn’t enough. In the last few moments of the game, the rival team pulled forward in the race, shooting the ball into the bottom right-hand corner of the net. The final score: 9-8; Santiago’s loss.

Despite the Shark’s loss, the boy’s did receive a lot of positive feedback from the fresh faces among the crowd. Nearly everyone was raving about “how cool” they thought water polo was after having this “wonderful eye-opening experience”. Drumline also supported the Boy’s Water Polo team through this experience, encouraging them through music during half time and playing an explosive tune after every point scored by the Sharks. It was a great turn-out in which many said they would definitely watch another water polo game.

If you haven’t spent one night in the stands watching one of the games played out by the Boys Water Polo Team of the Santiago High School’s Aquatics Sector, it is highly encouraged, because our boys spend countless hours training to defend our school’s name in the battle of clashing waters. The boys work hard to fight for us, so take an hour out of your day to stand by them- pool side, and cheer them on.
