Nightmare at Dos Lagos Haunted Maze

https://shopdoslagos.com/event/nightmare-at-dos-lagos/

The Shops At Dos Lagos presents “Nightmare at Dos Lagos, a Zombie Survival Experience.” The center will showcase one of the most thrilling mazes beginning on October 6th and running every Friday and Saturday through Halloween on October 31, 2023. The maze presents additional dates during Halloween weekend from Friday to Tuesday. During the event, participants will experience what it’s like to endure a zombie apocalypse. They aim to find a way out of the dangerous maze and return to the “safe zone.” Participants will come across the wandering dead along the road and must avoid getting infected. Each guest will receive a belt with three flags attached to it, representing your life. If you lose all three of your flags, then that means you’re infected.

The whole concept of the maze differs from a typical haunted maze. I went to this event on opening night with my friend and would rank this maze as one of the scariest mazes I have ever gone through. Most haunted attractions are labeled as “mazes” when it’s just a walk-through of a haunted house with actors jumping out to scare you. At Dos Lagos, I didn’t expect this maze to reach its expectations of being classified as a maze you can easily get lost in. With my experience, I ended up being lost for half an hour, which adds to the thrilling experience. This attraction was also different in having a goal to reach when you’re in the maze. The whole time, I knew I had three flags I wanted to get out with, but when you’re being chased and lost in a dark maze, it’s difficult to escape with any flags still on you. This idea made the maze so much more thrilling and fun to go through because, in the back of my mind, I was always scared of being chased or grabbed when the infected were trying to get my life.

I was offered to work there when I came on opening night. This opportunity allowed me to experience the perspective of being a scare actor. I never would have pictured myself doing this job until just recently. I experienced doing it for the first time, and it was more fun than expected. From the first night I was there, I now have the role of being one of the infected zombies. This was an exciting exposure for me as I always know when someone is coming and having that build-up of jumping out and scaring people was very entertaining. For those who find pleasure in scaring people and dressing up in costumes, then becoming a scare actor is a perfect job for you to do. Being a scare actor at the Dos Lagos Haunted Maze is a different experience since you can touch participants’ flags and chase after people instead of standing in one spot the whole time.

I recommend this maze to people who love anything scary and are unafraid of zombies. This event is a perfect opportunity for those who want to experience the thrill of a zombie apocalypse and a more interactive haunted maze that is more scary than typical Halloween mazes.
