Dove Cameron announced her engagement to Damiano David, lead singer of the Italian rock band Måneskin. The couple announced their relationship publicly in 2023 and has maintained a low profile since, despite their global fame. Unlike other celebrities, who usually heavily publicize their moments, this couple kept their engagement very intimate and unexpected. Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are among the celebrities who have had big, public proposals. E! News stated that “he estimates the rock is most likely in the $2.5 to $3 million range…he estimates the cost was around $25,000 when the number of musicians, the time, and the kind of work it was are factored in. If a rehearsal was involved, then it most likely would have cost another $5,000.” According to Vogue, Cameron said, “For the actual proposal, I wasn’t wearing any makeup. “I was completely barefaced, ’cause I had no idea that it was gonna be that day. It was very sweet in that way because I am typically very made-up, done up. I have fun experimenting with that stuff. But in this case, I was just in my big T-shirt, slightly damp hair, and no makeup.”

The franchise premiered on July 31, 2015, and was directed by Kenny Ortega. The franchise was based on four villain kids who were locked up on an island and were on a mission to steal the Fairy Godmother’s wand to free all the villains.

I interviewed students from our school, Santiago High. I interviewed Kayla Sims, a junior who stated that “Dove Cameron has grown a lot from a Disney Star to an artist. I was obsessed with Descendants. Another student I interviewed is Sophia Duran, who is also a junior, and said that “I haven’t heard from her lately, ever since Cameron Boyce died. But I do remember that I used to listen to her music, and I’m happy that she found love and is now engaged.”   

Dove Cameron’s engagement brought back nostalgia for Disney fans. As kids, we used to watch Liv and Maddie and the Descendants trilogy. It’s safe to assume that her engagement made us very happy, and we wish her the best. Fans have expressed hope that this new chapter brings happiness and healing following the loss of her co-star Cameron Boyce. As fans celebrate this milestone, Cameron’s next chapter — both personally and professionally — will likely continue to capture attention.
