You Can’t Take It With You

    You+Cant+Take+It+With+You

Thursday night the Santiago High School Theater Department presented their first show of “You Cant Take It With You”. The show consisted of a spontaneously loud, happy family with all performers fully committed to their roles.

The first night brought a decent crowd into the theater, hopefully continuing to fill the seats as nights go on. Costumes along with set were a huge success in the making. The costumes and set truly made the show intriguing, making the audience believe they were watching a professional Broadway show.

The months leading up to show time paid off, the cast and set have been working to put on the show all semester long. One of the main characters “Alice” falls in love with her boss, who is a Wallstreet millionaire from an uptight family who she soon will marry. As the show goes on, the two lovers are forced to introduce their families, Alice’s creative yet bizarre family and Tony’s high class, notorious parents. Overall, the Sycamore family spread a significant force of happiness across the theater. Students worked hard on and off the stage as they promoted their big night on social media, getting the word out so fellow peers could engage in supporting the theater department.

Rosie Perez (12) played the role of the Grand Duchess says, “I love theater and everyone in it. I’m so blseed to be apart of such a great show with great people.”

Ultimately, the Theater Department did a fine job with their production.
