Winter Fashion Trends 2023 vs. 2022

Winter+Fashion+Trends+2023+vs.+2022

So many trends have been popular this winter, and wouldn’t you like to know what they were this winter 2023? There’s always a particular style that is the most common. This could include makeup, hair, and even clothes. Let’s see some examples from last year’s 2022 winter trends.

For example, in the Winter of 2022, some of the most common fashion trends included knitted sweaters, double-faced jackets, puffer jackets, flair everything, and more. Colors were a massive thing for this year; this includes brown being the most popular of winter 2022 but green being right up with it. Some shoes could have included Ugg Tasminds, Birkenstock Bostons, and more.

But I loved it in winter 2022: black tights with either dresses or black skirts, oversized hoodies, and oversized crewnecks. But in comparison to this winter, 2023, I’ve gained a lot more style inspirations and have been loving a little of everything. This includes hair, bows, ribs, bones, and metal hair clips. With shoes, I love ultra mini Uggs and Converse. With makeup, the cold style makeup is personally the cutest currently. And finally, with outfits, I have found sweatpants or baggy jeans with long sleeves to be a recurring theme in my closet.

Let’s see what students said when asked, “What’s your Favorite Fashion Trend?” (makeup, shoes, hair, outfits):

Ribbons:

“The ribbons in the hair”-Payton

“Bows in the hair for sure”-Isabel

“My favorite trend would be bows in people’s hair”-Jayden

Uggs:

“I love how everyone is wearing uggs to school; I love the Tasmin ugg trend. It’s my fav,”-Paige.

“I’m liking the Uggs”-Autumn.

“I like how the uggs are trending again like they are so comfortable,” Emily said.

“I’d say uggs, I’d say like the low uggs are super cute”-Nicole

“I’d say just like jeans and uggs”-Xanthi

“So my favorite winter trend would probably be uggs and leather jackets,”-Renee

Other:

“When people start wearing pink or purplish blush, and they switch to cute makeup to make them look cold”-Angela

“I love when people start wearing their uggs, and they start putting the bows around them, and then they wear the legwarmers,” Alyssa said.

“I love a good vintage crewneck sweatshirt”-Shelby

“I love the shoes like I love the Ugg boots, and then I also like the bows in the hair”-Kayla

“I like the clean girl aesthetic with like the slick backs and like gray sweatpants with like a black shirt”-Addison

“Long sleeves”- Bridgette

“Probably furry coats or uggs”-Brooke

“I like it when people do the two braids and put a beanie on,”-Sara

“My favorite winter trend is like the makeup and the uggs”-Eliza

“Something that I’ve been loving has got to be pajama pants”-Shravya

“I like the sleeve off-shoulder shirts “Lindsay

After interviewing about 40 students at Santiago High School, one thing was the most popular, and that was Uggs. About 50% of the students I interviewed said just Uggs or themselves with more.

This winter, uggs are the new big thing, the ultra minis and the Tasman uggs.
