Students Goals for 2nd Semester

Asking students what their goals are for 2nd semester.

Santiago High School

After a nice relaxing break, it’s finally time to get back into focus and decide what your goals are for this semester, whether they are school-related or personal! Focus more on studying, getting all A’s, raising your GPA, or even making new friends are all great goals you can set for yourself! In search of constructive goals, I went around school asking people what theirs were!

What is your goal for 2nd semester?

  •  “My goal for 2nd semester is to be more motivated and to stop procrastinating on my work.” – Lexi Carroll (9)
  • “My goal for the second semester is to see my academic level increase. I want to focus more on math since every other subject so far has been pretty straightforward for me.” – Sofia Ramirez (9)
  • “My goal for the second semester is to achieve good grades and participate more in extracurriculars while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Having good grades is extremely important to me, but I also need to look out for myself so I don’t get overworked.” – Emi Lopez (9)

Will you achieve this goal? Why or why not?

  • “I believe I can achieve this goal because I truly want to do it for myself. If I work hard enough, I think I can accomplish staying motivated and stop procrastinating.” – Lexi Carroll (9)
  • “I think with my dedication and work ethic I built using my New Year’s resolution, I can achieve this goal.” – Sofia Ramirez (9)
  • “I certainly think I can achieve this goal because I am very determined, and achieving this goal will greatly help out with my success.” – Emi Lopez (9)

Why is this your goal?

  • “This is my goal because I do my work without meaning. I want to work harder to understand it and get better grades fully.” – Lexi Carroll (9)
  • “This is my goal, so that way I can apply this knowledge to be able to succeed in the future. I can also learn from my mistakes with this goal and see what I did wrong last semester.” – Sofia Ramirez (9)
  • “This is my goal because sometimes I overwork myself to succeed, which isn’t healthy at times, so it’s time to figure out a perfect balance between school and my wellness.” – Emi Lopez (9)

What do you plan on doing to achieve this goal?

  • “I plan on limiting my distractions and saying no if someone offers me answers. I already do this, but I will make a conscious effort to stay focused on my work and work hard to understand the material fully.” – Lexi Carroll (9)
  • “I plan to write my goals in planners, notes app, and anything to track my goals. Once I achieve each goal, I will mark it off. I will be sure that the first thing I do when I walk through my front door is homework.” – Sofia Ramirez (9)
  • “To achieve this goal, I plan to manage my time more carefully and prioritize important tasks. I also plan on taking more breaks to prevent burnout and increase my productivity.” -Emi Lopez (9)

As you can see, the students I interviewed have very exemplary goals for this semester. They all seem to want to focus on school, which is very important to emphasize. By reading this article, I hope this motivates you to make your own goals and hopefully succeed this semester!
