It had to happen, right?
The Golden State Warriors finally lost a game this season, making them 24-1. You can thank the Milwaukee Bucks for this loss. However, the Warriors had been itching at it for a while, with an overtime win against the Brooklyn Nets and the Boston Celtics. The second half of this 24 win streak came with close games and stressful fourth quarters, but they were able to come out of it. However, after coming out flat against the Bucks, that streak is over.
Although everyone in DubNation is sad and upset about the streak being over, there is much to be happy about. This loss could prove to be helpful, now that all the pressure is off of the boys, hopefully they’ll get back to their sinking 3’s and dunking selves. They also broke and set multiple records during this time.
Their 24 wins to start the season are the most wins by any of the 4 major North American sports.
They hadn’t lost a game in 186 days, with their last loss coming during Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
They broke their own franchise record of consecutive wins at only win 17.
Stephen Curry also passed his dad Dell Curry in amount of 3-pointers made, at 1318 currently.
Despite making these records and many more, one record that they were not able to pass, or even tie, was the Lakers 33 consecutive wins.
Even with Steve Kerr out and Luke Walton in as interim head coach, the Warriors prove to be a sight to watch no matter the situation. It should be an exciting season in the NBA this season.
