Kobe Bryant Announces Retirement

Kobe+Bryant+Announces+Retirement

Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers announced that this would be his last season of professional basketball.

Bryant started his career as a rookie in 1996 when he was selected by the Charlotte Hornets as the 13th overall pick of the draft, but was immediately traded to the Los Angeles Lakers and has been with them for the past 20 years. In his second season as a guard playing for the Lakers, he was voted a starter for the 1998 All-Star Game making him the 19th youngest All-Star in NBA history.

Kobe Bryant was only 17 years old when he first started his NBA career. Bryant has won five N.B.A titles, two Olympic gold medals, has been named to 17 All-Star teams and was voted the league’s most valuable player in 2008.

He ranks third on the NBA’s scoring list, behind only Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Karl Malone. Kobe announced his retirement on November 29th, 2015.

Kobe Bryant has been a fan favorite for many years. His retirement will be a memorable one for basketball enthusiasts.
