Secretary-General Antonio Guterres gave the agreement a name: “a new dawn for the Middle East,” stating that the world has prayed many times for this day to come. The treaty has included steps to end violence, open humanitarian aid routes, and establish a joint rebuilding program in Gaza. It also considers a two-state roadmap, which both Gaza and Israeli leaders support. Just years ago, many people thought this day would never come; everyone claimed it would be impossible.
